Patrick is a nine-time award-winning journalist who has authored thousands of breaking news and feature articles, as well as academic works, government filings and testimony. He teaches writing at The Writer's Center in Bethesda, Maryland. His first published work, a poem, earned him $25 in 1985. He has not written a poem since.
Patrick's creative writing has been published in multiple literary journals. He is pursuing a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing from the Vermont College of Fine Arts, ranked as the #1 low-residency program by Poets & Writers magazine.
